This is the 5th Spring Conference on Environmental and Occupational Noise organized by the Alberta Acoustical Society, which will be held in Banff, Alberta. The 2007 spring conference provides a forum for the discussion of innovations in noise control and noise management technologies. Research, developments, and case studies will be used to highlight current issues, and advancements in technology and software. The focus of the conference is to share practical experiences in environmental and occupational noise identification, measurement, regulation, and control.

Thursday, May 24, 2007 - Acoustic Sound Walk

The objectives of the conference are:

• to highlight environmental and occupational noise control innovations
• to promote responsible industrial development
• to identify and promote strategies for reducing workplace noise exposure
• to promote responsible management of human noise exposure
• to provide a forum for open discussion and networking
• to raise awareness about expanding noise issues

A competition will be held for the best student paper on any environmental or occupational noise related topic. Two cash prizes will be given for the Eugene Bolstad Student Award. The papers will be judged by members of the Alberta Acoustical Society and the top three papers from each category will be invited to present their paper at the conference on Wednesday May 23, 2007. The winners in each category will be announced at the evening reception.
