The week of May 24-27 2011, the Alberta Acoustics and Noise Association will be hosting the 9th biennial Spring Noise Conference on environmental and occupational noise. This year's theme is: "What's The Buzz?: Innovations & Issues"We hope to include papers and discussion on the following topics:
Industrial & Occupational: Facility Design, Workplace Considerations, Noise Exposure
Heavy Industry: Mining, Resource Development, Oil & Gas (Conventional/Unconventional)
Transportation/Infrastructure/Manufacturing
Power Generation (Conventional & Alternative)
Architectural/Community/Public Health/Education
Ecology, Environment & Wildlife
Noise Modelling & Measurement Techniques
Noise Regulations, Standards & Policies
Vibration & Low Frequency Noise
Other: Include Description with Abstract
As with our previous conferences, we place a specific emphasis on practical and applicable aspects of acoustical science, rather than the theoretical aspects which are well covered at other forums.
If you would like to present one or more papers on these topics, we are still accepting abstracts for a limited time. Please note that attendance is mandatory for the inclusion of papers in our conference proceedings. If you are a student please include the name and contact information of your Faculty Supervisor. The abstract should be in Microsoft Word (version 2000 or later), or as a text file, and be no longer than 300 words. Please use the font Calibri if you have Calibri on your system, as this will be the font used in the published proceedings.
